A Forest of Possibilities

The hopeful projects taking root as we prepare for another holiday season

Come mid-October, Sophie will be back at the kids’ entrepreneur event at our local mall. Last spring she made about $45 selling bracelets she designed and strung herself! It was a nice little milestone and a big encouragement to keep creating.

Now she’s dreaming bigger. Since this one happens just before Christmas, she wants to “up her game.” Her first idea was candles, but I suggested we wait since that requires so many supplies and burn testing, etc. The next idea was forest-inspired fudge. Of course, she won’t be able to dive into fudge-making until much closer to the actual event, but it’s already sparking a whole line of creative possibilities.

We’ve been tossing around other ideas to work on right away. Like a countdown to Christmas filled with bracelets, or even a countdown to the Wicked movie coming in November. She could offer DIY bracelet kits for those who want to try making their own, and package her remaining stock into bundles she can sell both at the event and afterward online.
